Vevay Township Community Park Renovation.

The renovation of the park has been divided into four funding phases.  The first phase includes a perimeter walking path around the west side of the park, ADA mobility compliance, playground expansion, pavilion floor replacement and other amenities as funding allows.  This phase has been completed.

The funding for phase two of the project is part of the Ingham County Round 8 Trails & Parks Millage Grant program, contingent upon renewal in 2026, with funds distributed in 2028.

The funding for phase 3 - Restroom Building - has been secured through a Michigan Department of Natural Resources Passport Grant. Construction is scheduled to commence in June or July 2026, with completion expected in September or October 2026.

In the fall of 2023, the 30 plus years old swing set was replaced with a modern pole style swing set that includes two children’s swings, one bucket toddler swing and one all-inclusive swing.  Also installed were two interactive puzzle panels and engineered wood fiber safety ground cover.

Hayhoe Trail Extension & Trailhead.

The project consists of extending the Hayhoe Riverwalk Trail from the City of Mason (the intersection of Kipp Road and Eden Road) south to the Vevay Township Hall and Community Park.  The trailhead will provide users with new parking spaces, ADA compliant sidewalks, drinking fountain w/bottle filler, bicycle parking, seating, information kiosk and signage.  The funding for the project is part of the Ingham County Round 8 Trails & Parks Millage Grant program, contingent upon renewal in 2026, with funds distributed in 2028.
