ATTENTION: There will be a Presidential Primary Election on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. The polling location will be at the Vevay Township Hall, 780 S. Eden Road, Mason. Full text of ballot may be obtained at the Township office from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Phone 517/676-9523.

Michigan Voter Information CenterVevay Township contains two voter precincts (I & II). Residents of both precincts vote at the Township Hall, except in the case of Dansville School elections. Welcome to Vevay Township located in Ingham County, Michigan. The township was organized as a general law township in 1838 and is centrally positioned within Ingham County. Vevay Township lies south of the City of Mason, the county seat of government, and shares boundaries with Ingham Township to the east, Aurelius Township to the west, Leslie Township to the south.

Easily accessible from Lansing and Jackson via US-127, Vevay Township is home to those who desire a convenient location, rural setting, friendly neighbors, pleasing terrain and easy access to the region's many cultural, social and educational offerings.

are now available at the Township office. If you would like to be added to the permanent Absentee Voter list, forms are available at the office. 

 
WINTER TAX COLLECTION REMINDER - Tuesday, December 27, 2011

Taxes are due by February 14, 2012. The Township Drop Box is located at the front door for after-hours collection.

Vevay Twp is offering residents a high quality U. S. flag to purchase at a discounted price. These flags are produced by the Annin Flag Corp (the largest and oldest flag manufacturer in the U.S). Refuse Service Discontinued - Tuesday, June 14, 2011
Because of the substantial cost of the monthly refuse service to the Township compared to the benefit to a small number of residents (an average of 30 persons a month), the Township Board has decided to discontinue this monthly service. The following are several vendors in the area that provide curbside refuse service to residents for a nominal fee:

Burning Permits

Hours for burning brush will be from sunrise to sunset. Absolutely No Burning After Dark.

All fires must be supervised at all times by an adult (18 years or older).
 
Burning is NOT Permitted of the following:
Building materials, plastics, rubber or rubber products, chemicals, asphalt, treated or painted wood products or other hazardous materials.
No burning should be done in extremely dry or windy (greater than 10 mph) conditions. You should not burn when the wind is in such a direction that smoke will be an annoyance to neighbors.
                            
You do not need a permit to burn brush in trash barrels. The law requires that you have a ½ inch mesh cover on your barrel at the time of burning. Please contact the City of Mason at 676-9155 (www.mason.mi.us) for questions on burning. There is no charge if a burning permit is needed; yearly renewal is needed for the permit.

Property damage accidents or crimes not in progress or without suspects, contact the Michigan State Police  Lansing Post at 517-322-1907, or go online to the Ingham County Sheriff's Department to file your report online www.ingham.org/sh and click the online crime reporting form
